Autumn Comes Screaming
Autumn comes screaming
orange and red bleeding
can't believe what I'm seeing
life is surely leaving
The home fires burning bright
to keep away the approaching night
this feeling quickly descends
frosted, lethargic, bitterness blend
Seed spills from these hands
unborn promises ultimately damned
under the needle spray,
wishing these feelings would go away
How many different shades of gray?
stripping the life from this awful home
the only thought is to turn away
run from the disparity
that claims you as its own
