Sunrise
Sunrise
Dusk fades
into dawn
I've known all
along
this sunrise
will be my downfall
as I watch pink and orange
fade to blue and gray
reflections spark my memories
stone faces
streaked with
tears
ghosts of my past
swim in your eyes
crystal pools overflow
your porcelain face
is burned in the
back of my eyes
your agonized face
will haunt me even
in the
after-life
my regrets are enough
to swallow me whole
my head is above
the water
but the surface is
white-hot
I continue to float
as the scars reopen
your voice
keeps me alive
in the remembrance
I live on
