A Hopeless Emotion
A Hopeless Emotion
one foot in front of the other,
like a funeral line,
paying your last respects,
It is because of the chaos
in my heart and mind
that pushes my body on.
Love, it is a hopeless emotion,
An emotion that humans
waste their time dwelling upon.
You left love
bleeding in my hands,
every nerve in my body shook
with that farewell glance you
gave me as you walked away,
into the blinding light,
a place where the
dark recesses of my mind
could not grasp
exactly what it was,
where the light cast much
longer shadows than needed or wanted,
a place where façade’s
and naivety reign supreme,
a place where broken heart’s
are forgotten,
Carelessly thrown,
yesterday’s trash,
and onto today’s new ’fad’.
A place I disregarded
and I trudged on in hopes
Of resting my relentless mind
Like a stick of dynamite going off in
My mind, I realized,
I had already found my way out
My way out of a self inflicted
Impending hell
I found my way of
severing the unwanted
Ties my heart bound me to you
I am free, once again,
Finally I can breathe again
No more suffocation
Just the sunlight,
brought upon by a new day,
A day where I finally found myself
