Statue
Statue
Statues of stones,
Time cannot touch
Glorified in loneliness
The light can’t reach
The shadows etched
On the surface
Or the demons
Under the skin
Slowly they take over
All this just to
Tear through your
Mortal soul
Silent echoes
Beneath the facade
As your resolve
Crumbles slowly
Your fears awaken
Before these statues
Your forced to face
Them on your knees
Easy to say hold on
Hard to give in
It’s not so crazy
To admit that
Your scared
The sun will descend
Upon our souls
And set our worlds
On fire
The thought of
It alone is enough
To close your
Eyes forever
Such a burden for
One soul to carry
Reflections on your
Eyelids will dance
For all eternity
For as a stone statue,
Time cannot affect you
No longer,
You have forever to
Admit your fears.
Don’t take life so
Lightly, or
Death so kindly
Some would kill
To be in your position.
