Let Me
Let me forgive myself.
One more stone and my back…
Will surely break.
Just a glimpse of your shattered memory,
The pain is renewed.
Maybe one more stone…
Then I might be able to forgive
Every sin I committed against you,
My dearest friends.
I owe you much more than
I have been giving.
Who am I to pretend that I like
What I’ve become?
I wish you the endless happiness
That I’ve always robbed you of.
Sometime, I pray, I could be a part of it too.
A stone for every transgression I have made.
I hope this back of mine
Is strong enough.
One day I want to join in
All of your happiness,
Without tainting it.
I want this guilt within me
To wash away.
Let me forgive myself,
So I can be….
Everything you need in a friend.
