Dear Mother
Dear mother,I hope your
Doing well,
It’s been so long
Since we’ve seen
Each other,
Never enough to
Be worth the effort
This I will always
Understand,
No matter how
Far apart
We may remain,
In your heart
I know I may
Lay, buried
In the colder
Abyss
Ever-wondering
I’d like to know
Just how long
Have you been
Wishing for such
A distance?
Trouble,
Nothing I’ve not
Been,
On the other side
Of this fogged
Glass, I can’t
See very well,
But I know
Your happy with
The family you
Actually wanted,
I think to myself
About it all
The time
Was I not good enough?
I’m just another child
Put up for adoption
And was never picked
Back up,
I’m just another
One of those kids
Who stand outside of
The place they’ve been
Wanting to find for
So long,
Only to find that
They were the
Only one’s who
Hadn’t moved on,
Who had a heavy
Heart,
The only one
Crying in the cold,
Watching their real
Family carrying on
Happily without them,
The only one left behind,
The only one forgotten,
Forsaken,
The only one
Lonely.
