Run
Run, runThe fear, it nips
Your heels,
Don’t trip over
That snake,
Dodge the obstacles
Before you,
Leave the damage
Behind you
Never look back
Out of breath
It will come back
In short pants
Slowly but surely
You will realize
All that the world
Is truly about
Clutching your wounded
Heart
It doesn’t stop
The bleeding now
Little one, run
Leave the pain
Behind, if you
Need a hand
To hold onto
I will follow along
With you
Don’t drag your
Feet, run with
Courage in your
Knees, making
Them bend upwards
Towards the sky
Nothing will keep
You down
Not abuse,
Not hate,
Keep your head
Up, looking the
World in the eyes
Step up,
In these times
The transition from
Boy to man
Is much to fast for
A young one to
Last through
Hold on tight
My hand will be
Your guiding light,
Should you ever fall
Behind, I will
Pick you back up
But it’s up to you
To dust yourself
Off this time,
Your fears nip
At your heels,
You didn’t trip,
You dodged those
Obstacles,
You didn’t look behind
You left the horror
Where it began,
You made that
Transition from boy
To man.
