Honesty
Sneak in lateAt night
You know where
He’s been
Don’t ask,
You can’t find
The words,
Smile faintly,
Fake,
When his sweaty
Arm embraces you,
Ever softly,
Your heart cracks,
Ever so lightly
Your holding it back
The days get worse
And your left
To wonder just
When you’ve grown
Cold enough for him
To seek another’s
Warmth,
The evenings so
Suffocating
The cold air
Outside seeping
Into the room
As the fight
Worsens
Only one way
For it all
To go,
One more word,
And then it’s all
Out there,
It’s all too close
Now,
That’s right,
Ask him the
Impossible,
Ask him to be
Honest.
Something he simply
Can not be.
