Horizon
Chasing the thoughts, until I reachThat horizon that we've longed for
Since we were kids,
I hate to break it to you, but I
Never anticipated that you wouldn't
Make it this far with me,
Whatever happened to the feeling of
Friends, just in reach of their dreams?
It's been a while, the clock has struck
Your hour,
I can't remember when it started,
Or where it ended,
But the tears remain, the mark of
Your last trace of Heaven on Earth
Crashing into Hell,
Reenacting all the fears we, no, I
Haven't felt since way back when,
You were the security blanket
That never wanted to go,
Another soul will float hopelessly
Amongst us, they all say,
I can't help but think that this
Isn't how you would have wanted
It all to be,
Frozen in the dark, the rain falling
Softly, muffling the tears,
The only one still here,
With blank mind and overfilling
Eyes,
The memories crash around me,
When you smiled, nothing showed,
When you laughed, I could tell that
You meant it,
Then why am I the only one
Standing here alone,
Chasing dreams to a horizon
That will never come?
