Angels
A faint touch on a heavy shoulder,
The pale light of diminished eyes.
Wings you only feel the breath of,
Before you close your eyes for good.
Keep us in the dark for years.
Hide in the light at the end of the
Metaphorical tunnel.
Never surrender, never fall.
Never say never,
Dare I say to breathe again,
When it hurts too much to be real?
The touch of angels, they say.
A bit touched is what they think
I believed in angels...
Until everything was ripped away from me,
And I was left to feel this empty again.
