Abandonment
Abandonment
Indifference takes me
In again when
No other would care
To try
Abandonment is a
Backlash from trust
The sands of time
Will bury this all
In time
Nothing is left sacred
As all scars are reintroduced
To old friends
The stars are dull
The moon refuses to glow
As the sun
Refuses to shine
In this dead end world
That is my own
A guilt as wide
As an ocean
With hope as dry
As a desert
My clenched fists
Will do nothing
Against inner
Demons
My thoughts are
The storyline to
This wasteland
A place my soul
Lurks
Death’s playground
The devils pride
My home for
The time being
Sands of time
Will wash this all
Away
Eventually,
Broken whispers
Of shattered promises
Will be carved into
The hearts of all
Those who were
Abandoned
Ignored until the
Anger ebbs away
Sorrow has no place
To stay
While indifference paves
The way
Hurt fades while
The color leaves
Your eyes
Dull Grey, set in
Place by the pain of
Abandonment
Time will never wash
Away the scars
Smother the pain
For life will surely
Fade before your subconscious
Forgets sins done to you.
