Drowning
One more stab,And the handle is
Ready to
Shatter,
The hate you’ve
Had to hide
Swallowed in the
Time,
The tide is getting
Higher,
Your head’s still
Above water,
Bubbling underneath
The surface,
The pain is getting
Harder to take
I’ll take my last
Breath as I’m plunged
Into the depths
Soft eyes
Yet clenched teeth,
Where has it gone
Wrong?
When did the
Tightness
Reach into your
Eyes, darkening
Your world?
Wait for your silent
Reckoning
Drowning now,
Still afraid
To swim,
Sinking deeper,
Here I’ll stay
Until you decide
To set me free,
The words are building
Up,
What’s not being said
Becoming the acid
Every time you swallow
The fog in your mind
A defense warding off
Those haunting memories,
Those haunting feelings
I hope it all comes
Back to you now
Drowning you within
Yourself,
Let me stay,
I’ll go on like
This forever,
In essence, I’ll be here.
