Winter's joy
winter has come at lastfall left in an angry blast
the wind did roar when it left
and broke down my back door
then old man winter came in
like a theif comes in the night
to steal away my warm joys
and grive me just for spite
but I remember summer days
basking in the sun
the warm breeze so lazy
the world and me like one
or spring when you were with me
and the dances we did share
down in the grassy medows
the flowers growing fair
now its but a wast land
the flowers are all dead
the grass has turned to wilted weeds
the dancers ran away
and you have gone and left me like the
sun does flee the day
and took away my summer's joy
and left winter in its place
but prehaps the snow thats falling
will somehow call you back
to share a time of Merry cheer
and by the fire laugh
so happy we shall be my dear
as the angel's glourious strain
and when the spring time returns
will be together again.
