Renewed by grace
what is this crime that I've committedsee my blood stained hands
what is this again committed in shame where I now stand
what is this the dark deed that drive me to my knees
trying to reverse the tide as it flows away
can not all the ocean tide wash away the dirt
can not all the time in life fade away the hurt
can not all the powers of man or creature make it go away
can not any preserve me or wash this stain away
nah no mortal can forgive this sinful act unholy
no flood or fire could burn higher as to clean it fresh away
but look there yonder to the mountain tops where the son
of man is broken
a fountain flows from that rock in which to put my hope in
for see the tide is flowing red but it washes whiter than snow
and so head over heals into the river I go
if I sink or if I swim I know that I'll be found in him
and raised from this and pardoned free
from this dark deed done by me
but no more now I stand forgiven no charge or fault be found
thy saving grace has took my place and cleansed me from every sin.
