The Crossroads
so many days we sharedso warm and complete
running through the medows
I thought it would never end
but summer turned to autumn
the leaves began to fall
and the warmth that once filled the place
started to dissolve
a creeping cold crawled deep with in
like ice into the bones
we let go of the happy time
as day faded into night
and the sunset behind the clouds
and left us in the dark
now rain is pouring down
winter has come early
the meadow now a graveyard
the joy now is hurting
the memories are haunted
the blue skies turned to grey
for we have now parted
and gone our seperate way
but I will not forget you
I pray summer will return
and that you will remember me as I do you in turn
and at this crossroad we say our last goodbyes
until the sun comes out again and this life dissolves
