Heavenly Gates
I was on the outsidetrying to get in
couldn't find a window or a door
but deep inside I felt the urge and I could not ignore
the darkness was so dense
like a cage or chains
and the urgency so real
like ridding all the pains
I was so confused
I was lost
scared and alone
wondering out in the cold
out there on my own
and it was at the midnight hour
when all seemed a waste
my last breath in my chest
wishing for another at best
the light came on
your love rushed in
like morning
like a typhoon
likea hero you rescued me
became my savior, you set me free
like a father you picked me up
and filled me and over flowed my cup
with so much grace and unchanging love
and renewed faith to raise above
and now my Lord how long shall I wait
until I reach your holy gate
so open wide your heavenly door
and let me in forever more.
