Painting the roses red
I use to talk in riddles, the rhythm ticked like timeI use to hide my sorrows somewhere deep inside
but I forgot the answers, the beat got out of sink
and the tears rolled down my face, burning on my cheek
I use to live in shadows, two colors, black and white
I use to enjoy my silent nights and being on my own
but suddenly a rainbow brightened up my ski
and now I long for someone to stay with me by my side.
I had a friend, a dear one, she and I were very close
but now she has left me with memories like a ghost
so now I look for something more, much deeper than a friend
now I'm looking for a love that will never ever end
so love if your out there, I am still a black rose
but for you instead, I'll paint them red and let the warm winds blow
I sat a course for summer, I'm waiting for your hand
please don't take much longer, it'd be more than I can stand
I'm tired of the shadows, the crying and the rain
I live my life in color now and feeling all the pain
so love come quickly, do not terry for I am no younger
come be with me on land or sea and say you'll stay forever.
