Christmas star
I heard a story of long agoon a cold winter's night
a child was born unto the world
the father's gift of light
I heard he was born of purity
and that he came for all to see
how much the father truly must
love mankind
I was told they laid him in a manger bed
used straw to rest his head
and that they still healed him a king
on that first christmas night
I heard of sheperds abidding by
and of the angles singing on high
and of the kings who were so wise
who came to adore him
but the most amazing news of all is the crown
that drew them to the stall
for the light that rest upon his head
was the brand new star of bethleham
the star that gave the led the wise kings day and night
and showed the sheaperds that the angle was right
and that still shines for us to see that Christ was born
the king of kings so that we could have peace on earth.
