Golden rain
I saw the rain falling through the lightit was caught in its twinkling eyes
illuminating its entire being
with its golden amber bright
the flame of it was amazing
it took my breath away
and faded just as quickly as the sun light
flees from the day
but I saw it there for an instant like a sign that God was near
I alone in this place
and the world still ringing in my ear
I would have stayed to embrace the light
but it fell so fast light and no more
but still if i were so gifted I'd paint its enlightenment for sure
but I have not the skill
for what man could craft such a thing
when we are no more than a falcon who has lost its wings
the light that fell was so instant
I nearly saw it at all
as quick as it came and left still the same
and forever no more to be seen
but who would believe such a thing
that heaven could be found in the rain
or only a drop of that golden place
now what kind of fool must i be
to confess of that which I see
a glimmer of gold
a truth yet so bold
as the setting sun on the sea.
