Wrong Number
When I lost her
It didn’t feel good or bad
Just awkward and strange
To know we’d run our course
Without the trauma lovers suffer
When saying goodbye
What felt good
Was the affirming knowledge
Only being true to one’s self can bring
When answering a telephone ring
Without the fear of reproach
