Wings
The life of Mister Butterfly
Is always blessed with love
For when he flies into the sky
He’s one with what’s above
While caterpillars eat and eat
And tell him to come down
Our good friend Mister Butterfly
Keeps well above the ground
He knows that he’s a butterfly
And not a childish tot
Though caterpillars tell him that
A butterfly he’s not
But butterflies can’t hear such lies
They’re trained to lose the past
They traded in their other skin
For one that makes them fast
So if you are a butterfly
And someone says you’re not
Just look at where they’re coming from
Then look at what you’ve got
The caterpillar only knows
The world of food and crawl
But those set free by God to fly
Have truly got it all
