Life Times
Eternally loving clockworks
Relinquishing the fear of death
With each day awakened to
And strung together
Like so many unexpected visits
From reality
Evenly spaced lessons
Compelling us to reach deeper
Into the hidden wisdom
Of God’s perfect balance of reverence
And reward
This do I seek in my daily flow
This do I know
For without life times
The rush of wisdom would blow us away
But mercy is kinder than hard sellers
And patience knows only the discipline
Of perfect timing
So I worry not on the journey
Though others try to convince me
Into that of which I cannot partake
Convicting themselves in the process
While I reach another step
On the stairway to heaven
And when there is shade
It is a holy rest for the soul
God knows the sun is sometimes
More than the day can handle
And the time has come
For Him to touch me in a dream
On the night before my cue rises
To the dawn of another reality
So goes the circle of life times
In the solar system of sanity
