I think it is crucial, endemic and smart

To put into words what goes on in our heart

The one we all feel through in perfect accord

The one Father heals through by way of our Lord

When Good News propels us and smiles back at fear

When poetry spells us between every tear

The power of writing reflects heaven’s essence

Conveying the wisdom of God’s perfect presence

Our words are much more than enlightenments written

They also tell readers how much we’ve been smitten

By God’s Holy Spirit and love and affliction

Forgiving our sins through His Son’s crucifixion

So speak to disciples who need reassurance

Who can’t get a handle on faith-filled endurance

They’re out there and searching for poetry’s lessons

For warriors trained to write love’s intercessions
