The Best
Remember how we used to live with jellybeans
How we'd stare at them for fractions of a second
And one-to-five minute eternities at a time
As if they were all that existed?
Remember being in a state of terminal love
Hurting and laughing
Aching and longing for that first kiss
Jockeying for the perfect position in which to watch TV
To sit behind the wheel
While making out?
How we searched for places
Where the atmosphere was light speed
And out of touch with reality's hookers
Always remember the first jellybean
Love’s first birth pang
And never forget cotton candy
