The River Hope
Oh- blessed waters
Buffeted and bullied by harsh currents
By desert winds thrown to and fro
Unto the shifting meanderings of erosion
Be calmed in the foreknowledge of thy destination
You are more than just an irrigation ditch
Carved into a landscape of hardened dust
Thou art the noblest of travelers
For no matter what dam or boulder may try
To stop you from making appointed rounds
You continue in the flow of your perfect journey
Knowing and believing
By sheer resolve and faith
That sooner or later
The flux and force of your soul
Must empty itself
Into the mighty Spirit of God's eternal ocean
