Thunder
I dared not wish for poetic bliss
To bless this well worn warrior
And wished no less for a perfect kiss
To consummate euphoria
Two lovers missed between two ports
On line to spell out last resorts
Suspended by a point to tell
Wherein each mind remained
To write a love knot long defined
Yet held restrained
For future dreaming
A heart filled full
A star bright lit
To key the way to prophesies
Kept for this day
When perfumed paper said its piece
Through poetry's heartfelt release
Upon this page
And hers so sweet
So literally lifted off my feet
To grasp and hold
This one so bold and gifted
How hard we tried our best to hide
Until that night so rare and right
When spirits soared and hearts thought long
Of what we stored within each song
Where time stood still to fill each line
With love's pure-ageless sweetheart wine
I could not wait
Nor could abate
This swelling spate of wonder
So truly claimed
So wisely named
By love's pure perfect thunder
