Nature's Prayer
Bristling wind shear
Tear me not I pray
Nor keep me from appointed rounds
On my way
Through the mystery of creation
Let fair weather be on my side
That I might hide
When harshness batters and pounds
Against those who prefer the sting of wrath
To the perfect timing and fellowship
Of our Creator’s righteousness
And glory
Preach to me
Dear rain and hail
Fall loudly on the lost
When the moment comes
To shake them back from death
In the fear of God’s storm warning
Teach me the perfect lesson
That I might learn what it means
To be one with the awesome power
And destructibility
Of heaven’s temper tantrums
Amen
