Faces
How quiet are the faces
Passing through the day
Some not knowing where they’re bound
Or why they cannot stay
Searching for a quiet place
Where people sit and love
Sharing in a quiet way
The dreams we’re all a part of
Faces say it with their eyes
Mindless of their lips
While others listen for the sounds
That really don’t exist
How often have our eyes been soft
To others who have cared
To those with softness in their eyes
How few were words we stared
But now I look at you and say
With no one else around
I love you in the name of Christ
Without a single sound
