A Poem
There is a poem in each of us
Waiting for the courage to share
Yes- a poem is there
Sometimes- welling up in tears
They wait years
For perfect moments in time
To shine aloud and perfected
Amongst their peers
Poems are there
In wailing embraces
Showing their faces
In far away places
Or at home
In a rocking chair
Poems are there in every heartbeat
Swaying in perfect syncopation
With the biorhythms of another
Listening
Dancing on the lips and tongue
For a bit
Just for the love and fun of it
A poem is there
Playing and replaying
Somewhere
Or waiting for a spotlight in history
A tic or a tock
To set in motion the clockwork of mystery
Unto the solving of a writer's destiny
There is a poem
