"Lips"
There were times when a memory was all that we had
To quell our sadness
To help us feel glad
To bring back a moment we prayed for and shared
When life was not hapless
And smiles were not spared
There were feelings to cherish and hide in our souls
To savor and treasure
Like heaven-sent goals
Preserved in an instant by snapshots of joy
When love was a pleasure
We could not avoid
Then came the day wished for
When eyes interfaced
When hands held on tightly
And time was erased
Our longing was over
Our hearts hugged and kissed
As we ever so lightly
Made love with our lips
