priceless
I have no way of knowing all the roads down which you've walkedthe paths you chose or those imposed by all her wicked talk
but with your words you take me there, so you are not alone
in that basement prison, I watch you struggle on
your broken heart defeated, unloved and so reviled
Invisible reach out my hands to hold your inner child
to whisper all the loving words a little boy should hear
I know you couldn't understand, the reason's never clear
when trusted parents spurn and hate it breaks a vital part
and we are left with damage on our innocent, unstained hearts
I say there is no answer to the question of why or how
a hateful mother could betray the ageless implied vow
but you my dear, don't have to bear the shame of misery's curse
you are on the other side of the twisted road traversed
full grown "this man" my friend you are a wonder to behold
I see you stand to face the storm your future to unfold
to choose a brighter, better path to set your feet to stroll
shaking off the weight of pain that's taken its own toll
I hope for you this freedom, to finally know your worth
that you'll not base your self-esteem on an accident of birth
but see your own fierce, loving heart, and passion be requited
and all the wrongs this life has wrought for you I would see righted
so never think you must for me cause your knees to bend
I gladly celebrate you, because I am your friend.
