ephemeral
my love, the wind shakes the trees
and howls it's torment
through branches stripped bare
the sky weeps it's copious tears
even as I weep for you
for the never-knowing of us
for all the might have beens
and dreams we spun
fragile, spider-silk dreams
revealing heart truths
shared...then blown apart
my love, the wind
illusion is severed
and the heart stills
bound by its shackles and chains
to the stillness of the emptiness
of what is real...
our hands, almost touching
our lips, hunger
our hearts with their syncopated beat
I'd languish in this dream
of longing fulfilled
ephemeral as mist
but my love, the wind
and howls it's torment
through branches stripped bare
the sky weeps it's copious tears
even as I weep for you
for the never-knowing of us
for all the might have beens
and dreams we spun
fragile, spider-silk dreams
revealing heart truths
shared...then blown apart
my love, the wind
illusion is severed
and the heart stills
bound by its shackles and chains
to the stillness of the emptiness
of what is real...
our hands, almost touching
our lips, hunger
our hearts with their syncopated beat
I'd languish in this dream
of longing fulfilled
ephemeral as mist
but my love, the wind
