    Written for a very good friend of mine, who has seen some troubled times in her life. A, this one's for you.

    You Amaze Me

     My dearest friend,
    I cannot say enough
    Just how much
    You truly amaze me

    You've seen so much
    Pain and suffering
    So many dear things
    Torn away from you

    From your parents
    To your childhood
    All taken too soon
    You grew too fast

    But despite the past
    You are incredible
    Now that you can be
    You truly amaze me

    You carry so much
    Borne upon your heart
    But you smile anyway
    How I envy that

    So strong and beautiful
    And also so brilliant
    In every possible way
    You shine in my eyes

    You are the only one
    To make me feel okay
    For you know my soul
    Unlike anyone else

    You mean so much
    More than you'll accept
    But I mean what I say
    I hope you can see it too

    It breaks my heart
    That you think so little
    Of your amazing self
    If only you knew

    I know I've said it
    Many times before
    But I'll say it again
    You amaze me
