Starfall

I was staring into the cosmos tonight
I witnessed a star coming to earth
I was sad at first, to be honest
But then I was filled with mirth

It had left it's home, high above
And fell from it's heavenly place
While I cannot know it's reason
I know it is being of great grace

I smiled a bit at that thought
And then a warmer one came to me
It felt as if a secret was just told
The truth about how you came to be

After all, is there any other way?
You are too amazing to be of man
And look how brightly you shine
As only a glimmering star can

So I have decided, as of tonight
You are certainly no normal person
You are, to me, a fully fallen star
An awe-inspiring gift from heaven
