Rainy Night

It seems like it will rain
The clouds are rolling in
And before I know it
Tonight it is raining again

A soft pitter-pattering
Tapping on my roof
The rains fill my heart
With a feeling so aloof

It is slowly raining harder
I can hear the thunder
And feel lighting in the air
The storm takes me under

Deep inside I am feeling
Such a sense of delight
Looking out my window
Seeing a sky suddenly bright

The light quickly fades away
And the dark returns
There is only the rain now
For which my heart yearns

I lay silently in my bed
Listening to it's gentle sound
It slowly carries me away
And sleep I have found

I awake to the sun
Gently smiling on my face
I am disappointed to see
The rains left this place
