So Far Away
Long ago, in a dream of a love so far away,Two lovers spoke of love that would forever stay.
But the girl’s heart was found untrue,
And her lover’s pain grew and grew….
He told her so many times his love was dying,
And of the many nights he had spent crying.
But the girl seemed to live without a care,
When he spoke his words, she was never there.
Each day that passed, he slowly died within.
But still his loving heart said “ignore her sin.”
Weeks would pass without a single word,
He denied all the hate that stirred.
The many nights he spent alone,
Forced the man to take a somber tone.
Then one day she showed her face,
And the poor boy’s heart would race.
They spoke at last of his love, so true;
She smiled and said “Love, I’m leaving you”
He stood there grinning as she walked away;
He called out “Baby, that’s what I was gonna say”
But since that day, how time has flown,
Since the day his pain was first known.
The man feels no sorrow, no more pain;
He now knows true happiness once again.
He hopes to find a girl to call his own,
Just to show how his love has grown.
His eyes shine bright and he smiles happily,
For now he knows that his heart is free...
But still, when she comes his way,
He remembers a dream of a love so far away,
And a love he hoped would forever stay…
