First, Second, and Third...?
I think back to how we first metA seemingly shy "hello" on my screen
Numbers and names passed by a friend
On that day, something beautiful grew
I know well your arm's sweet embrace
The beautiful way you first said hello
Gathering me into your body
Seeming like you'd never let me go
I smile when I picture our hands
Coming together for the very first time
Fingers so delicately entwined
With a loving squeeze every so often
I can still feel our first kiss
Planted firmly on my eager lips
Curiousity grew slowly into passion
And we explored each other so joyously
I remember fondly the day on which
We first said our sheepish 'I love you's
So nervous and scared in the best way
But happier than we ever were before
I can recall when you said goodbye
That we could be together no more
How I desperately pulled myself together
And tried to grasp for another heart
I feel her first embraces again
As well as her hand softly pressed in mine
The first kiss we shared together
None of them could compare to yours
I reexperience the glorious day
When you came back to me
She was long gone in my life
And I foolishly sought your love again
I am happy to remember your "yes"
When I asked if you wanted me back
Such a joy ran through my veins
It seemed as if I could fly
I feel such a fool when I recall
The day you said a second try won't work
Tears poured down my miserable face
My world had just collapsed
I tear up just a little bit
When I remember my months without you
Though it pained us both horribly
The thought of you ate me up inside
I smirk a little bit to recall
The time I agreed to be a friend again
It was what felt right, as it should
And I know your frienship is a blessing
I couldn't hate you if I wanted to
Despite all the pain you gave me
It seems we can only grow closer together
Just friends for now, but maybe someday...
