The Great Wolf
A howl breaks the darknessAs the great black wolf
Charges into battle.
Amidst Ragnarök stands
The king of gods and men;
Odin stands to fight.
Then with breath of fire,
He attacks the king,
His tooth and claw bared.
The king battles on,
Sword and shield in hand;
This is all to no avail.
Odin's fate is sealed;
His great shield has fallen,
A blade a steel is of no use.
Fate long ago decided
That the great king is dead.
By the fang of Fenrir,
The mighty black wolf,
The greatest god is felled.
