    Poem Commentary

    A young man in my art class was killed in early 2011. Our school mourned for weeks. This was my simple memorial poem, written as soon as I got the news.

     Nate, I knew you not enough
    It's a shame you're gone already
    This awful world was too rough
    But you're in a place more steady

    You may have left us early
    But at least you're in His love
    I'm thankful you can now see
    The grace of heaven above

    Rest in peace, Nathan. You'll be missed.
