Spinning Rings
I’ve never been a girl who cared for things that glitter
I don’t know how you came up with the money
To by those silver wedding rings that would spin
I laughed when you said, you liked to spin it round an round
As we stood there before the county clerk that day
I swore I’d love you, no matter the difference in age
To say, I do, gave my heart joy, just to see you smile
Now I can only see that precious smile in my dreams
I’ll never forget the way you loved me so tenderly
I counted all the minutes ticking away each day
Waiting by the door, and greeted you with a kiss, when you got home
Now I greet you each night in those precious dreams
That job you took was hard on you everyday
But you said I was worth all your sweat
To come home to me each day, just to see me smile
Now you see me smile when you come into my dreams
I don’t know why God took you from me so soon
But we loved a lifetimes worth, in the time we had
And I know you have blessed my every nights dream
I’ll hold your hand again my love, in Heaven, and still be wearing your ring
