Night Shadows Part 1
Night Shadows Part 1
It is coming, you cannot hide, it desires you
The stars in the sky glitter with the coming
Turning daylight to dusk and beyond
Just another night in their little small town, perhaps
Darkness of night wraps on your door
Surrender to its calling, you have been chosen
There is no escape, nowhere to hide
Time to answer the call of your name
Shadows of the night become surreal
As the mist of fog covers the ground
These are his play things in the dark
Night has come, and you are his prey
A voice calls in the night breeze
You stop, turn around, was it real
A rustling sound in the leaves, frightens
You hear a step walking close, ever so close
You pause, inhale the crisp air deeply
You shiver and shake it off, nothing, you say to yourself
Yet the nights creepy feeling follows every step
Temped by it's false feeling of freshness, you feel alive
Just a short walk through the park, you told him
"Its a lovely evening darling for a walk"
"I won't be long," your last words
He stays behind to finish the evening dishes
The streetlights your only friend on this dark cool night
They flicker, drawing your attention, then nothing, just dark
A voice calls your name and moves closer
You scream and try to run, faster, you must escape
Dark mist surrounds you, invading your lungs
You stop to rest on an empty park bench, just a breath
He closes in and the fog envelopes you
Your scream is drowned by the thickness
You never returned home to your love
Police are called to search the park
"Are you sure she did not just leave you," they ask
"No!" he replies franticly, and stares at them in disbelief
Voices and laughter are heard once again in the little park
Towns people meet for their morning walk along the quiet path
Park benches are passed one by one, empty, no trace
As daylight breaks upon the little town park, once again
The darkness once again has claimed its prey
Folks just shrug their shoulders and pass it off
Refusing to believe he exists in their little piece of heaven
Just another rumor, or kids prank, is what they all believe
