The Thistle(revised)
The Thistle
Our thistle of love, forever true
Many petals to count, for reasons to love you
If they prick my fingers and make them bleed
Each drop scrafised makes our love more complete
Each new blossom that blooms with spring
Count even the ones yet unseen
Shows us grace in the many ways our love is renewed
These thistles of love I give to you, shall never be blue
The first thistle of love I gave you to start
Forever pressed in the pocket of my heart
Each day I count those petals of love times ten
For all the reasons I have loved you now and back then
Deep purple hue, our thistles color exposed to you
Shows the warmth in our hearts forever true
Share with me all those thistles I've picked those days
For they show how are love forever embraced
Forever our thistles shall bloom for the love I feel for you
Each prick of their thorns shows many ways I've tickled you
Embrace the faith that our love will always bloom each spring
As you watch from your heaven above, I shall pick our thistles and sing
My love for you shall always be true
