My Dragonfly

I see you shinning there
in the bright sunshine
did you come to visit me

Oh how lovely your are
but you look so very blue
are you lost my little friend
don’t worry you are so young
just a baby you are
beginning a life of adventures
as you flutter and dash about
from flower to flower

skipping puddle to pond
discovering new things
and meeting lots of new friends

Oh how I wish I could be you
and dash about so freely
in the bright sunshine
not a care in the world
but seeking your favorite
things to eat.

Oh I wish I could be like you
with such brilliant blue color
shimming in the sunlight
each day a new adventure.

Please come back and visit again
my new little friend
I do so enjoy your company

Now fly away and be brave
you have lots of things to discover
no need to sit here with me
for such long visits
you have so very much to see

Fly away and grow strong
as you find new things
dashing about in your childhood

Fly away and learn new things
while you become full grown
but please come back often
to visit me, my lovely blue
dragonfly of my dreams.
