    Poem Commentary

    This is a picture of a rock formation near a lake in Burma . The photo can only be taken on a specific day once a year when the sun rays touch the rocks at a certain angle.

    Beauty seeks thine UN-captive soul


    A soul that exists in realms darkness
    Gracious beauty leaves them with blindness
    Sees only the rocks
    A gift darkness blocks
    Keep ones soul UN-captive by darkness

    Life's beauty shall reward grateful eyes
    Pity those blindfolded by dark minds
    Dark holds beauty captive
    Eyes unreceptive
    Once a year nature kindly reminds

    Spirits that seek out life's elegance
    Natures gift be thine eyes rich wages
    The rocky shore line,
    Beyond, into time
    The reflection of man's temperance

    A soul existing in darks coven
    Peace and joy sensations left craving
    Natures miracle
    Indescribable
    Such are rare joys in natures haven

    A beauty seen only once a year
    Souls of love finds natures gift un-smeared
    Spirit, soul of light
    Natures gift of sight
    The chosen soul finds beauty so clear

    Let peace and joy surround your spirit
    Let not darkness leave you such demerit
    A rocky shoreline
    A gift to define
    Natures miracles living spirit

    Asha......am so touched by this and truly inspired and amazed at the rock formations........some say eyes only see what they are trained to see and recognise beauty in the mundane.........this masterpiece shoots that whole idea to hell.....thank god.

    Asha, your genius of finding and sharing these pictures continues to amaze me and I am awed by your discoveries... THIS picture, that you have turned sideways, just sends the chillls into my mind that it exists... more so that you found it. and your title alone is a poem... and I like your poem's description of what you discovered was hidden and yet, so easily seen with bright eyes and a seeking heart... a very religious experience for me... this picture and your poem...

    wow, thank you dear for such a wonderful comment, I am thrilled that you could see the little miracle and beauty not only in the picture but also in the words I tried to describe it with. Most would walk around as if blindfolded and never look for something this precious in nature. A friends mom is the one who found the picture and emailed it to me and I was wowed by it so I saved it to write a poem........thanks I am glad you enjoyed......as always loves ya asha

    Indeed! This was like an ode to perception itself. Giving merit to the thinker, the seeker, the one looking beyond the surface. Well worded piece with a feeling as mystic as the picture.

    There are more Horation between Heaven and earth than deampt of in your philosophy. Loved the pictures and the beautfully written story behind the photo's.

    thank you very much dear poet friend, I am honored that you see the beauty in one of natures little miracles, and glad you enjoyed my poem about them. I am always happy to know that my friends can see the beauty I try to describe in my words, which are usually just written in free verse, but I took the free verse version of this one and challenged myself to write one with more rhyme and meter to it and still carry the same message......thanks for reading and commenting, I also posted the free verse version just for giggles after I showed it to mindnumbing she wanted me to post it as well so I did for her......thanks and as always loves ya asha
