Under the Rainbow

Poem Commentary

JN 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. For the longest time, I thought I was living a moral life. I listened to every word my parents said and whatever they deemed wrong, I thought it was wrong also. I didn't have the courage to be a woman or to stand on my own two feet because I was always depending on someone else. However, with every birthday and every year I spend as a wife....I realize that Jesus is true life. My life source does not flow from anyone but Him.

Under the Rainbow

Black and white was the
Sun that ruled all of my days,
Until one day, the rain poured
Down on my heart and washed
All those colors away-now droplets
Of red, blue, green and yellow
Pink and aqua marine showed me the
Kind of life I was living was
Not how things should be....
Suddenly, the world is much bigger
Than my mind could ever dream of!

Can I place the rainbow
In a box and say,
"This is where you belong
 Never come out but stay
Here inside my heart" ?

I am letting go of all
The places, people I used to know-
I am changing this life
And living under the Rainbows
Of truth and light-

My future is bright, clear and free!
No more black and white for me,
I am living out my true colors-

I love this postitive piece...we do see life as black and white too often and realizing the colors are so vast and immense is a wonderful wonderful feeling....this is so beautiful.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
