    Inspired by my second mother in Christ, Jeanette Toney. Thank you for your words of encouragement. This poem is dedicated to you and the verse you gave me. John 14:1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled.”

    Not Bothered

    You can’t get to me!

    You can’t

    Get under my skin

    Cuz I’m lockin the door

    Ain’t lettin you in

    No-more! No-more

    Listening to the

    Bold Faced Lies you

    Spew inside my head…

    Time for bed and

    I want to sleep tonite.

    I don’t wanna fight

    You and I can’t take

    You in my life no more!

    No-more cryin

    Cuz life

    Is so unfair-It’s unfair

    For everybody! And

    Who am I that I can’t

    Share the load with

    The rest of the world

    In the same boat as me?

    Free- free to be

    All that I’m called

    To be

    Long as I’m followin

    The one that saved me-

    It’s his voice that’s

    Resoundin in

    Side my head, Instead

    Of listenin to fear,

    I hear You-Shed

    Some light on my

    Situation and throw

    Out my inclination

    To pick my problems

    Off the floor-

    Walkin away, tired,

    Don’t wanna be
