Acceptance
As I acknowledge my role
As your child, I build my
Self-esteem in You.
When I realize the
Sheer ignorance of my existence,
I create my identity in You.
I do not know You like
I thought I did-
I always thought I could
Hold my life together, until
It all fell apart.
I always thought that
I knew my own heart...
What a cheap substition
In illusions and lies.
Swallow them whole on
A silver platter and still,
Never be full or satisfied.
As I ascertain the value
Of Patience and Faith,
I become much stronger.
As I strip away the pride
Lingering inside of my heart,
I become even wiser.
As I accept all of You,
I become a better Me.
