    Poem Commentary

    I dedicate this poem to my husband, Donald Parker. I look up to my husband so much because he believes in individuality. I thank God that I have a man that does not follow anyone but Christ. I have learned this lesson from him.

    Unchanged

     I am the same,
    Untamed, undaunted and
    Un-afraid of what
    Others may say about
    Who I am and what I write-

    I write what I feel and
    I have the power to say
    Anything I want to say
    When I want to say it,

    I am the strength,
    I am the steady, successful and
    Sweet, when I chose to be,
    No man on earth can
    Change the real me inside...

    Get angry, if you want to,
    Curse about it, lie about it,
    Fight and Slight about it all you want!
    I am me and I will not
    Change myself for nobody,

    I remain persuaded,
    I am perplexing, persistent and
    Pushing always to get to
    The top of where He wants
    Me to be and he is the only one
    That can ever change me,

    I am me and I will
    Never be anyone else,
    I love who I am and
    I love who I can be!
