The Passion
The Passion
what did Jesus look like
does anybody know?
If the movies portrayed him
as he was
would anybody go?
If Jesus came back in our time
who would be
the first to see
He has no form
nor comeliness
Isaiah 53
So when we make our movies
portraying Christ's
sacrificial crucifixion
Would his passing be worthwhile
if not meeting our
visual expectation?
Christ was oppressed & afflicted
for the transgression
of the masses
A stricken man of sorrows
acquainted with our grief
For our own trespasses
We esteemed him not
though he hath bourne
All our grief & sorrows
poured out his soul
dying upon the Cross
Yet we’ll still speak of it tomorrow
Now, 2000 years
have passed my dear friend
Since Christ’s earthly benediction
Yet our heart’s held fast
by a love that lasts
in the passion of Christ's Crucifixion.
