Nature’s Crown of Achievement
Springtime breezes blowing
Mid twisted twigs of massive oak,
As new life begins to blossom
Where winter stripped them of their cloak,
Overhead their garments gather
A delicate lace of silken trim,
As the sun shines through this fabric
Illuminating this golden green.
Over time these leaves will season
In mature crown of forest green,
As this breeze begins to lessen
Replaced with summer’s smoldering heat.
Thus the birds will find their shelter
And the squirrels will make their nests,
And mankind will spend their summer
In their shade to rest as guest.
